Why do I need a true Color Reference Monitor?
The answer can vary depending on the industry you are in. A graphic designer might be interested in a proper representation of colors for the purpose of reproducing a Pantone reference color. Or proper representation of the FOGRA standards, typically used for proofing applications (validating design layouts prior to press).
Color calibrated displays provide the ideal solution for any color-critical application. These applications include Photo, Printing and Fine Art Reprographics.
Incorporating an Eizo display that has built in calibration functionality
in your workflow allows virtually any simulation as well calibrations to be achieved to be able to view accurate, reliable, repeatable and consistent color before printing or during the process of image manipulation.
The goal is to simulate imagery displayed to the monitor as faithfully as possible. In this way any color corrections/decisions made from the display will be as close as possible to where the tire meets the road.
What you need to know: Not all monitors are capable of being calibrated to match color properly or that of many calibration standards.
